About Me

In 2016, while working towards a dual degree in neuroscience and philosophy at UT Austin, I started tutoring students through Wyzant. That same year, I became a mathematics teaching assistant at Gonzalo Garza High School.

I was considering a career in education at the time, and I thought that tutoring would give me insight into the character and skill set needed to be successful.

And it did.

However, I quickly realized I could be a more effective instructor outside the classroom than in it. As a freelance tutor, I could devote more time and energy to my students, which meant I could better understand their needs and personalize their instruction.

Having tutored several hundred students of different ages, personalities, and abilities, I’ve learned that every student can improve their understanding with clear guidance and support.

Because when students feel understood, they feel ready to understand.
